Main test standards for household appliances EMC

The source of electromagnetic interference of household appliances is mainly formed by the sparks generated by the commutator motor in it,and the actions of mechanical switches,various controllers, and protectors.For example, some appliances which are operated by a motor with commutator,such as vacuum cleaner, hair dryer,food blender, electric shaver,etc.generate electromagnetic interference when the brush contacts the commutator;and rice cooker,electric iron,electromagnetic ovens, refrigerators, washing machines, etc. generate electromagnetic interference due to frequent switching actions; large currents required when the air conditioner starts up may cause the voltage to temporarily drop, and inductive loads such as motors or inductive ballasts may cause the power factor to be reduced, and the power electronic components in the variable frequency speed control air conditioner also generate power harmonics; the multi-functional fan controller with thyristor device may generate high-order harmonic disturbance; the home appliances with remote control, all Household appliances with microprocessors such as automatic washing machines, electric water heaters, microwave ovens, etc., the two-level digital signals they use may cause electromagnetic interference, and the frequency of disturbances can be as high as hundreds of megahertz as the clock frequency increases; The electromagnetic leakage of microwave ovens and induction cookers will not only cause electromagnetic disturbance, but also do harm to human health.
